YOSHI'S ISLAND: 30
Ranking all the Bosses!
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island has a major difference from the first Super Mario World: fun and creative boss battles!
In the original Super Mario World (SMW), boss fights with the Koopalings were often duplicated (Morton Koopa Jr. & Roy Koopa), and involved little more than jumping on a Koopaling once they finished their attack. SMW2 took a totally different approach.
The boss fights in this game are varied, themed, and creative. This applies to how they look, attack, and the way to defeat them.
So let's head to some forts and castles to take on slime, piranhas, and ghosts in a ranking of Yoshi's Island's best boss battles!

#12
Burt
Burt is a bouncing enemy that usually shows up in pairs in Yoshi's Island. Kamek creates a giant version of a "Burt" who bounces around as Yoshi shoots eggs at him, which lowers his pants each time. Seriously. Once he's naked he turns red and flies off in embarrassment. Odd. Easy. Ok.
#11
Salvo
Salvo is a little Lemon Drop that's increased to humongous size via Kamek's magic. It can't hurt you by touching it, but it can push Yoshi around. Each egg you hit it with will create smaller Lemon Drops to fall off of it (Think Cloverfield), that Yoshi can eat to make eggs for ammunition to finish it off.

#10
Bigger Boo
This is the first boss that requires some skill to really beat. Mario fans are familiar with the Big Boo, but this one is massive and only gets bigger each time it's hit! Remember, you can't hurt it while facing it, so let it sneak up on you, aim for the wall, and watch it regret messing with our hero!
#9
HookBill
Hookbill can feel like a standard boss fight, but that's not a bad thing. The playing field is enormous and so is the Koopa! Yoshi has to make some decently skilled egg-shots to knock him over onto his back before delivering three ground-pounds until he's sent flying from his smashed shell.

#8
Marching Milde
Marching Mildes are all over Yoshi's Island, but none are anywhere near this size. The name of the game here is ground-pounding Milde until he splits off into smaller versions of himself. Once you have a ton of smaller Mildes walking around you can eat 'em up or egg-shot to victory.
#7
Prince Froggy
Fighting Prince Froggy is unique in that Kamek casts a spell on Yoshi to shrink him down to bite-size! After being slurped up by the Prince, you'll have to dodge his stomach acid while waiting to see if he eats anything else you can use against him. It may be the most creative boss battle of the game!

#6
Potted Ghost
The Potted Ghost is a personal favorite boss battle of mine. All you need to do is push his flower pot (like all the others you see) straight off a ledge! It sounds easy, but the Potted Ghost (named "Roger") will spit blue fireballs, lunge at you, and has two Shy Guys assisting it in overcoming Yoshi.
#5
Naval Piranha
Its castle prepares you with practice for the kind of egg-firing you'll need to defeat this Piranha Plant with a notable injury! He'll ram into Yoshi and create smaller Nipper Plants to attack. Watch out for his spiked vines! This Piranha means business, if only there was another way to defeat it. OH, MY!!!

#4
Raphael
Mario must've learned running around the Galaxy's planets from taking on Raphael with Yoshi! This is a challenging boss battle, especially if you have motion sickness. The creativity is off the charts in a game of cat and mouse with Raphael, as Yoshi tries to ground-pound a post into him three times!
#3
Tap-Tap
Yoshi enters a pipe and soon finds there's nowhere to run! Kamek shows up to turn a Tap-Tap into an absolute unit of a boss who continually advances towards our dino-namic duo! Maybe breaking those colorful blocks and sending Tap-Tap for a warm bath will cool him off? Only one way to find out!

#2
Sluggy
Sluggy is such a great boss fight. He won't hurt you, but opposite to The Potted Ghost, he slowly advances towards Yoshi hoping to knock him off the stage to his doom. Yoshi has to rapid fire eggs into Sluggy's slimy exterior three times. There's only one way to this boss's heart and it's Yoshi eggs!
#1
King Bowser
King Bowser is one of the greatest boss fights of all time. Baby Bowser wants to ride Yoshi, until Yoshi defeats the royal brat! Once Kamek Repulsa makes his monster grow, Yoshi is in for the biggest egg-throwing challenge of the game. The closer this kyojin advances, the less time Yoshi has!
